How this started

"Ithaca has no shortage of charities fighting food insecurity — it's said no one here should ever go hungry. But diapers are another story. While volunteering at Ithaca Kitchen Cupboard (IKC), I watched a family leave empty-handed because there were no diapers in the size they needed. When I asked the director what IKC needed most, she didn't hesitate: "Diapers!" That's how the Ithaca Community Diaper Drive was born. Two local congregations of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have partnered with IKC and Catholic Charities of Tompkins/Tioga to meet that need — and to honor America's 250th anniversary along the way. Our goal is to supply diapers for 250 local children along with notes of encouragement for their families, one for every year of American independence." — Heather Lemons (Service Coordinator, Ithaca Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints)

What to donate

Check the sizes below to see what's needed. The ones still short come first.

Under each size, one or more cards show the best of what our registries carry — the cheapest pack, the best value per diaper, and the best sale. Tap the store name on a card to open our registry there and buy that pack, or browse everything else the registries hold. Every link opens our registry at that store, with our delivery address ready.

Write a note of encouragement

We print these notes on small cards and tuck them in with the diapers a family takes home. You don't need to say anything clever — being told that someone was thinking of them is enough. Every note is read by a volunteer.

Optional. Printed under your note — a first name is plenty.
